Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans
The government pays private companies like Aetna to provide you with the same or even more benefits than Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), including affordable copay and coinsurance amounts when you use network doctors and hospitals. These are known as Medicare Advantage plans. You can choose Aetna Medicare Advantage plans with two types of coverage for a low, or no, monthly plan premium in addition to your Medicare Part B premium:
- Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans cover Medicare Part A and B benefits (hospital and medical insurance) and more, including vision and/or hearing. These are all HMO plans. You'll need to use our contracted network of doctors, hospitals and other providers. Learn more about our HMO plans >
- Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans with Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (MAPD) cover Medicare Part A and B benefits (hospitals and medical services) and more, including Part D prescription medications. You have one convenient plan, with one ID card. You can choose an HMO or (PPO) plan. Some plans require you to stay in network, while others let you go out of network. Learn more about our HMO and PPO plans> Most offer prescription drug coverage.
For information about our Aetna Medicare prescription drug plan quality assurance procedures (such as quantity limits and medication therapy management), refer to our Find Prescriptions page.
