Important information about our pharmacy network

This is a pharmacy that has a contract with our plan to provide prescription drugs to members at a price negotiated by Aetna® Medicare. This price is used to calculate your out-of-pocket cost. In most cases, your prescriptions are covered under our plan only if they’re filled:

 

  • At a network retail pharmacy
  • Through CVS Caremark® Mail Service Pharmacy
  • Through CVS Specialty® Pharmacy

If you cannot use a network pharmacy, refer to your Evidence of Coverage and look for the section called When can you use a pharmacy that is not in the plan’s network?

    You can expect to receive your printed copy 7 to 10 days after we process your request.

ⓘ We update the find a pharmacy tool every two weeks. This search tool contains our most up‐to‐ date pharmacy network information.

You can go to any of the pharmacies on this list. However, your drug costs may be lower at pharmacies on this list that offer preferred cost sharing. We have marked these pharmacies with a purple tag. This is to distinguish from other retail pharmacies in our network that offer standard cost sharing, which are marked with a blue tag.

In some areas, the Aetna Medicare pharmacy network includes limited lower cost preferred pharmacies. You can find more information on the limitations at AetnaMedicare.com/en/footers/disclaimers.html.

CVS Caremark® Mail Service Pharmacy is our preferred network mail-order pharmacy. Using mail‐order delivery is convenient and may even help you save time and money.

 

With mail order, you get:
 

  • Medications sent straight to your home or many other locations of your choice
  • Standard shipping at no extra cost to you
  • Automatic refills

 

ⓘ Mail-order is for certain medicines you take regularly, for a chronic or long-term condition. We also call these “maintenance” drugs.

 

Typically, mail-order drugs will arrive in no more than 10 days from the time we receive your order. Call the number on your member ID card if you don't receive your medications within this timeframe.

Some pharmacies have a special distinction because they distribute limited access drugs, home infusion drugs, or are considered a long-term care (LTC) pharmacy.

 

Long-term care (LTC) and home infusion pharmacies use standard pharmacy cost sharing.

 

Home‐infusion pharmacies: Aetna Medicare will cover infusion therapy drugs if both of the following apply:

 

  • Your plan has approved your prescription drug for home infusion therapy and
  • You get your prescription from an authorized prescriber

Long‐term care pharmacies: Residents of a long‐term care facility may get their prescription drugs that our plan covers through either:

 

  • The facility’s long‐term care pharmacy
  • Another network long‐term care pharmacy

For more information on home infusion or long-term care pharmacies, call the number on your member ID card. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Only Native Americans and Alaska Natives have access to Indian Health Service/Tribal/Urban Indian Health Program pharmacies through our plan’s pharmacy network. Other members may be able to use these pharmacies in emergency situations. For more information on these pharmacies call the number on your ID card. We’re available 24/7.
