How to enroll in Medicare plans

Whenever you’re eligible to enroll and ready to shop plans, we’re here to help get you started.

See ways to enroll for each plan type:

Medicare Advantage (Part C) and prescription drug plans (Part D)

If you want a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan, Medicare Advantage prescription drug (MAPD) plan or prescription drug plan (PDP), you’ll need to enroll in Original Medicare first (Parts A and B) if you haven’t already. You have three shopping options if you’re eligible to enroll in a Part C or D plan right now:

Online

You can shop and compare coverage and prices for available Part C and D plans on our website. Simply choose the options that work best for you and enroll online.

Phone

Mail

Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP)

If you have Medicare and Medicaid already and live in one of 30 states in one of our covered counties, then you may be eligible to enroll in a D-SNP.

Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) Plan

Institutional Special Needs Plan (I-SNP)

Our I-SNPs are currently available to nursing home residents in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York. These plans offer benefits tailored to the unique medical, social and emotional needs of their members. I-SNPs include prescription drug coverage and provide access to on-site care in the facility.

Original Medicare (Parts A and B)

No matter which of our Medicare plans you’re interested in, you’ll first need to enroll in Original Medicare with the U.S. federal government if you haven’t already. Tip: If you don’t sign up for Medicare Parts A and B or Part D when you’re first eligible, you could face penalties in the form of higher premiums.
